#39- The "Dinner" Club

One group that I am considered to be a part of is the close circle of friends from high school in which I have kept in touch with and get together with regularly. Though we are all attending different colleges, it has become harder to see each other as much as we had in high school, which in a way makes it that much more exciting when we do get the chance to meet up.

One of our favorite traditions is to go out to dinner—any place, anytime, any kind of food—the only thing we require is a table and patience from the servers when we take up their station for sometimes hours on end while we talk, laugh, and reminisce about anything. We came up with the idea to go out to dinner on a regular basis back in high school because it was a way for us to escape our busy lives and focus on one another’s presence for the few hours we share together at the dinner table. Just like it is important for families to eat dinner together, it is the same for friends as well.

I am fortunate to have these girls in my life and I when I come home from school, one of the first things I look forward to is seeing them and for that I am grateful to have such friends in my life.

That is a unique group to be in! I wish I still talked to some of the people I was friends with in high school, but over the years we all lost touch.
